Man City 5/2 favourites for Rodriguez – Chelsea & Liverpool keen too

Published:

With his future at Real Madrid seemingly all but over, James Rodriguez could well be on the move this summer. And the latest reports suggest a whole host of Premier League heavyweights want to sign the Colombian.

Rodriguez has started just seven La Liga games under Zinedine Zidane this season, and has fallen down the pecking order at the Bernabeu.

Things have been a little more successful in Europe, with four starts in the Champions League, but he’s certainly not in Zidane’s immediate plans.

Nevertheless the Colombian ace’s quality has shone through with five goals and 12 assists this term.

On average, Rodriguez has managed either score or produce an assist every 77 minutes.

The forward has been with Real since moving from Monaco in a £60m deal in 2014.

His contract in the Spanish capital runs for another three years, and with a transfermarkt.co.uk valuation of £42.5m, Rodriguez won’t come cheap.

But where will the forward go? The weekend’s press claim each of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are keen on a deal.

And the odds suggest it will be a fiercely transfer battle.

The Citizens are favourites at 5/2, but the betting is tight with Chelsea chalked up at 3/1.

Liverpool are 7/2, with Arsenal the relative outsiders at 4s.

It seems unlikely that Rodriguez will move to White Hart Lane, with Tottenham 8/1 to complete the signing, with Manchester United a 10/1 shot.
