Livingston boss wins Ladbrokes League 1 Manager of the Month gong

Livingston boss David Hopkin has been named the Ladbrokes League 1 Manager of the Month for March.

The Lions took an impressive 13 points from six games during the period, a run which all-but-secured the league title for the West Lothian outfit – a feat they’ve since achieved.

That run was underpinned by an extremely well-organised defence, with Livi keeping three clean sheets during those six outings, en route to victories over Albion Rovers, Stranraer and Stenhousemuir.

And the never-say-die attitude instilled by the rookie gaffer has been evident time and again, with Livi scoring three goals beyond the 80-minute mark in March, including two in that 3-0 victory over the Wee Rovers at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Livingston’s fourth victory of March – and the most exciting of the bunch – came against promotion hopefuls Airdrieonians, with Hopkin’s men recording a 4-2 victory, thanks largely to an inspired display from forward Danny Mullen.

Having helped his side record some vital and eye-catching wins amidst the pressure of a title race, there’s little doubt about who deserved the month’s managerial accolade.

And the Greenock-born gaffer has continued to deliver so far in April, with Livingston winning their first two games.

Next up for the Lions is a trip to Stenhousemuir this weekend, with 4/5 for Livi to enjoy victory at Ochilview and 13/5 for the visitors to win to nil once again.
