Everton v Chelsea: Toffees can help reignite the title race this weekend

Published:

Everton can put a huge dent in Chelsea’s Premier League title aspirations and re-open the door to Tottenham Hotspur in the process this weekend.

The Toffees face Antonio Conte’s Blues at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon and their recent home comforts, coupled with a decent record against Chelsea on Merseyside, hints at plenty of value in the 14/5 on offer for an Everton win.

The visitors are 19/20 to take all three points with the draw priced at 13/5.

However, with Ronald Koeman’s side winning their last eight top-flight games on their own patch it’s worth avoiding those latter two options.

Everton have also won four of their last six at home to Chelsea in all competitions with their grand old stadium often proving to be a tricky hunting ground for their opponents from West London.

Toffees hitman Romelu Lukaku has been a driving force behind his side’s fantastic home run, netting 14 times in his last nine appearances at Goodison.

He bagged a brace in last season’s FA Cup victory over Chelsea too and is 5/1 to net the game’s opener against his former employers and 21/10 in the First Home Team Goalscorer market.

Elsewhere, Diego Costa returned to form in midweek with a brace against Southampton and the Spaniard is 21/20 to net at any time.

Meanwhile, with four of the last six encounters featuring three goals or more it could pay to back Everton and over 2.5 goals at 19/4 or Chelsea and over 2.5 goals at 2/1.
