Everton firm favourites to land Swansea City’s star man

Swansea City now look likely to suffer relegation to the Championship after one point in the past five games. And things could soon get worse for the South Wales outfit, with Everton sniffing around their prize asset – Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Our traders believe the Icelandic winger could find a move to Goodison Park too tempting to turn down, with odds of 6/4 for him to make the move. And those odds are likely to be cut further if the Swans fail to avoid the drop.
The Toffees are currently clear favourites to prise the 27-year-old from his current club, but they’re far from the only side with a shot at securing his services.
West Ham United are next in the betting at 5/1, with the Irons having struggled to adequately replace Dimitri Payet on the left wing, since his contentious move to Marseille.
They’re followed by 6/1 shots Southampton, while there’s the same price on offer for the former Tottenham man to be lured away to the Chinese Super League.
However, our odds-compilers think there’s little chance of the Reykjavik native heading back to a former club, with 1899 Hoffenheim (12/1) and Tottenham Hotspur (16/1) at the back of the pack.
For the current Everton squad, the focus is firmly on the battle for a top six spot.
They host Burnley on Saturday, with odds of 2/5 for Ronald Koeman’s men to record a seventh successive home victory. Meanwhile, it’s 5/4 for the Toffees to win to nil for the sixth time in seven games at Goodison.
