Diego Costa odds-on for China move amid latest reports

Diego Costa - Chelsea

They dropped him earlier this year and now Diego Costa and Chelsea face the same situation on the eve of an Emirates FA Cup Semi-Final with Tottenham Hotspur.

That’s according to the Daily Mirror, who claim that Costa’s recent dip in form – he hasn’t scored in five games – is due to another offer from the Far East.

The Spanish striker was subject to a £90m move by Tianjin Quanjian in January.

Chelsea rejected that offer, but Costa was dropped by Antonio Conte for the game versus Leicester.

The Blues prevailed 3-0 that day, but they’re unlikely to find things so easy this weekend against Spurs.

It’s believed that the latest offers from clubs in China feature an eye-watering £34m-per-year after tax contract for Costa, in a deal which would make him the highest paid player in world football.

And our traders are confident the move will happen, with Costa odds-on at 4/5 to move to China.

These fresh bids have come at arguably the worst possible time for the Blues, who are bidding to secure a league and cup double.

But the Stamford Bridge outfit have seen Tottenham close the gap at the top to just four points, while victory for Spurs at Wembley this weekend would further dent Chelsea’s title hopes.

Costa hasn’t scored since March 6, and is currently enduring his longest goal drought in a Chelsea shirt.

If Costa isn’t destined to head East, then our traders make a move to MLS the next best option at 4/1.

Atletico Madrid are a 6/1 shot to re-sign their former striker, while it’s 8/1 Costa heads to any side in the UAE.

A move to AC Milan – recently taken over by a Chinese consortium – is 9/1.

It’s 10/1 the 28-year-old moves to Paris Saint-Germain but at 14/1 and 16/1 respectively, our traders have effectively ruled out a switch to Manchester United or Arsenal.
