Crystal Palace v Burnley: Eagles and Benteke to come good again

Published:

Saturday’s tea-time game really is a tricky one to call. Crystal Palace haven’t exactly excelled at home, while we all know about Burnley’s troubles on the road.

So, we’ll go straight in with 0-0 at 8/1.

In truth we reckon that’s unlikely with Palace’s games averaging bang on three goals this season.

And having won six of their last 11 to allay any relegation fears, the Eagles are understandably favourites at 4/5.

With a seven point gap to the drop zone, Sam Allardyce has achieved his aim of keeping the South Londoners in the top flight.

And they’ve been having a real impact at the other end of the table too, beating Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool this month.

So while Palace and Allardyce can all-but look forward to next season, Burnley can’t quite enjoy the same luxury.

The Clarets should be safe, boasting a five-point gap to the bottom three.

But they could use a point or three to really ensure their survival, and the Lancashire outfit are 21/5 to win at Selhurst Park.

Christian Benteke is the man most likely to break the deadlock, with the Belgian bagging five goals in his last six games.

It’s 11/4 on the former Liverpool man opening the scoring, while Andre Gray leads Burnley’s charge at 15/2.
