Manchester United fans will be rubbing their hands with glee this morning with reports suggesting Cristiano Ronaldo could be set to rejoin the Red Devils – and our traders reckon it could happen too.

The Portuguese ace is just 7/4 to return to Old Trafford, having left the club to join Real Madrid in 2009.

Reports in Spain claim that new Real president Florentino Perez is unhappy with the performances of Ronaldo and his strike partners Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.

Indeed the club president is allegedly so unhappy with the so-called BBC trio that he is planning to sell one of them this summer, sparking talk of a Ronaldo return to England.

The forward only signed a new deal last November, and is still valued at a monster £85m by the boffins at transfermarkt.co.uk.

But United have spent well over £100m in each of the last three summer windows, and the lure of re-signing one of the world’s greatest players could prove too strong.

Having only just turned 32-years-old, it’s widely accepted that Ronaldo should have another three or four seasons at the top, if not five.

Certainly for the Old Trafford faithful, the thought of seeing Ronaldo team-up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba next season will be one to saviour.

Paris Saint-Germain are next in the betting for Ronaldo’s potential destination at 5/2.

And they’re the only two sides in realistic contention, according to the odds, with a return to boyhood club Sporting Lisbon chalked up at 8/1.

Bayern Munich are at 10s, with Ronaldo 12/1 to make a surprise move to Manchester City.

Chelsea are 12/1, while it’s 16/1 for the European Championship winner to make a shock move to Real’s rivals Barcelona.

Ronaldo spent six seasons with Man United, scoring 118 goals from 292 appearances en route to three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and the 2008 Champions League.
