Bournemouth v Chelsea: All signs point towards Chelsea win & BTTS

Published:

Chelsea head into this weekend some seven points clear of Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the Premier League table. But by the time they face Bournemouth on Saturday evening, that gap could be closed to four.

That’s providing Spurs win at home to Watford, which looks likely at 1/4. And with that in mind, we’re fully expecting Antonio Conte’s men to retaliate with three points of their own so as to edge even closer to ending Tottenham’s hopes of catching them.

Were both London outfits to win this weekend, the gap would remain at seven points with 21 still to play for, meaning Chelsea would have to drop on average a point-per-game. To put that into context, they’ve been averaging 2.4 points-per-game thus far, so they’d need to seriously crumble between now and May – while Spurs wouldn’t really be able to afford to drop any more points.

But let’s get onto Saturday’s late kick-off…

A quick look at the odds tells you all you need to know. Bournemouth (19/4) have it all to do if they’re to nick three points off Chelsea (4/7) at the Vitality Stadium. The Blues have lost just twice away from home all season against Arsenal and Spurs respectively.

However, while they’ve got the best record in the division on the road, Conte’s men have conceded in each of their last four away games. Couple that with the fact that the Cherries have scored in 12 of their 16 matches on home soil and there’s suddenly some great value in the Chelsea win with both sides scoring at 12/5.

As for the goalscorer markets, our traders make Diego Costa the 4/5 favourite to score at any time, although we’d be leaning towards his teammate, Eden Hazard.

Three goals in his last four league outings make him great value at 5/4 to score what would be his fourth goal in as many games against the south-coast outfit.

Meanwhile, Joshua King has been in deadly form for the hosts of late, and has 12 goals to his name already this campaign, including a strike against Liverpool in the week. He’s 3/1 to find the net at any stage in the game, while 9/1 says he opens the scoring.

And if you’re fancying a repeat of the scoreline we saw when these two sides met last year (Chelsea won 4-1), we’re offering 22/1.
