Arsenal fans will be delighted with our traders after striker update

Just when things were looking up for Arsenal, it looked as though Marseille were going to throw a spanner in the works by launching a £20m bid for star striker Olivier Giroud.

And while talk last night suggested a move could have very much been on the cards, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has since rubbished such talk.

Following the French boss’ comments this morning, our traders have since priced up a Giroud summer exit at 5/1.

Odds of him NOT leaving this summer are as short as 1/9. That’ll be music to the ears of Gooners worldwide, as the 30-year-old has been of great help so far this season, albeit largely featuring as a substitute.

Despite his lack of game time, Giroud has still managed 13 goals in all competitions this year.

But above all, he offers the North London outfit something completely different going forward, and is seemingly happy to play second fiddle to Alexis Sanchez.

And while he remains a 6/1 shot to make Marseille his next port of call, it’s likely it’s now or never in terms of a move to the Ligue 1 giants for the striker.

The latest odds are leaning towards never.

Giroud will likely feature in Arsenal’s clash with reigning Premier League champions Leicester City, although it’s unlikely he’ll start the game.

He does remain a 19/20 shot to score at any time though.

But perhaps a more tempting bet is the 7/2 on him to score last. It’s something he’s done on five occasions in the league already this season, and if he’s brought on with 20 minutes or so remaining, he’ll have plenty of time to get himself on the scoresheet.
