Arsenal fans will be waking up smiling for the third day in a row, as more good news looks set to hit North London.

First it was an incredible Emirates FA Cup semi-final victory over Manchester City. Then Arsene Wenger rubbished talk of a potential Olivier Giroud departure, and today it’s another huge name who looks likely to stay.

Step forward, Alexis Sanchez.

He’s been the subject of a move away from the Emirates for much of the season as contract talks have stalled.

But his manager has since come out and assured fans the former Barcelona ace is going nowhere soon.

And as a result of those words from Arsene Wenger, our traders have responded by making it just a 4/6 shot that the Chile international stays at Arsenal after the next transfer window.

That’s the shortest price he’s been to stay with the Gunners in recent months, and it’ll be music to the ears of supporters who’ve been biting their fingernails ever since contract talks began.

Sanchez has been in lethal form for Arsenal this season and already has 19 Premier League goals to his name. As well as that, he’s netted three goals in Europe and two in the Emirates FA Cup – one being the winner versus Man City on Sunday afternoon in extra-time.

It doesn’t end there though.

The forward has been a pretty handy provider of goals to teammates too, notching up a staggering 18 assists in all competitions this campaign.

That means he’s directly been involved in 42 goals this year, making him by far Arsenal’s most influential player.

Keeping hold of Sanchez this summer and building the squad around him has to be Wenger’s priority if he’s to have any chance of challenging for the Premier League title.

The latest odds are suggesting he’s already achieved one of those two aims. Now the Frenchman just needs to add some more talent to his ranks.
