Will Man United or Real Madrid break Pogba’s record transfer fee?

Published:

There’s every chance that Paul Pogba’s world record transfer fee will be broken this summer, according to the latest odds.

In fact, our traders have reacted to recent rumours by making it an odds-on shot that the figure is smashed when the transfer window opens.

Reports linking Chelsea’s Eden Hazard with Real Madrid refuse to go away, and the chances of him moving to the Bernabeu at the end of the season are looking all the more likely.

And it’s now just 6/4 that the Belgium international leaves Stamford Bridge for the Galacticos.

Of course, Chelsea have no reason to sell and would rather keep hold of their star man in preparation for their inevitable Champions League return.

That means that were a deal to cross the line, the total fee would almost certainly exceed that which Manchester United parted ways with for Paul Pogba last summer.

And on the subject of the Red Devils, they’re the most likely club in England to smash the record they currently hold.

That’s because Old Trafford chiefs are reportedly in talks with Barcelona officials over a potential £200m deal to land Brazilian star Neymar.

And that’s not as unlikely a scenario as you might initially think. In fact, our traders make it just a 4/1 shot that the 25-year-old teams up with Jose Mourinho in Manchester this summer.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “We’re preparing for a huge summer in the transfer market, and that means equally huge fees. If the latest odds are anything to go by, Paul Pogba’s price tag could just pale into insignificance by the time the window slams shut in September.”
