West Ham emerge as favourites to sign Arsenal outcast amid reports

| 15.03.2017

If this week’s reports are anything to go by, then Arsenal’s business in last summer’s transfer window was both costly and – well – pretty much pointless in truth.

That’s because Granit Xhaka is reportedly a target for Bayern Munich (yep, you read that right), while another of Arsene Wenger’s most recent arrivals has also been linked with a move away from the Emirates at the end of the season.

Step forward, Lucas Perez.

With West Ham on the hunt for a top-class striker this summer, it’s just 7/4 that the London Stadium is Perez’s next port of call.

Despite signing for the Gunners for a fee estimated to be in the region of £17m, the former Deportivo La Coruna forward has seen very little in the way of game-time, much to the surprise of supporters.

Perez has just two Premier League starts to his name since moving to England, scoring one goal in the top-flight.

But in his defence, he’s hardly been given a fair crack of the whip. In his 11 league appearances, he’s played just 265 minutes of football, or 24 minutes-per-game on average.

He is, however, the only Gunners player to score in every competition this season, and he has impressed fans when called upon.

Meanwhile, it’s just 3/1 for a return to his former club in La Liga, and Deportivo could certainly do with his goals right now as they find themselves sitting dangerously in 15th place.

And with Romelu Lukaku’s future up in the air, 4/1 says Everton make a move for the Arsenal man – could he be a potential replacement for the big Belgian?

What do fans think? Should Perez be sold or does he deserve more of a chance in the first-team?
