Odds slashed on Roy Hodgson taking over at Norwich City

| 14.03.2017

Derby County parted ways with Steve McClaren two days after Norwich City sacked Alex Neil following a run of six Championship games without a defeat.

But while the Rams have acted quickly in appointing a new boss (Gary Rowett was confirmed as McClaren’s replacement this morning), the Canaries appear to be taking their time over a decision.

Alan Pardew may remain he favourite for the post at 5/4, but perhaps even more interestingly is the movement behind him in the market.

In fact, Pards was an odds-on shot at 4/7 on Saturday morning when the market opened, meaning he’s now actually less likely than he’s previously been to take over at Carrow Road.

However, we’re keeping an eye on former England and Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson, who has seen his odds slashed from 8/1 into just 5/2 this morning.

Despite reports in the papers suggesting Pardew is Norwich’s first choice, punters clearly think otherwise, as at the time of writing, a staggering 75 per cent of all bets placed on the Next Norwich City Manager market have been on Hodgson.

It looks to be a two-horse race between the aforementioned pair, with the next manager in the running being Simon Grayson at 10/1.

He’s just ahead of former Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood who shares odds of 12/1 with Gary Holt.

But who do fans want to see in charge?
