Napoli v Real Madrid: High-scoring visitors to edge it in Italy

Published:

Real Madrid will be looking to reach the last eight of this season’s Champions League in style as they head to Stadio San Paolo to face a Napoli side in indifferent form.

The hosts have lost three of their last five games – including that 3-1 first-leg defeat at the Bernabeu – and have conceded 10 goals during that period, scoring seven.

By contrast, Los Blancos have had no struggles in front of goal this term. Zinedine Zidane’s men have scored in every one of their 41 games this season, and ran riot at Eibar on Saturday, netting three times in the opening half-hour and eventually winning 4-1.

That means there’s every chance of the visitors putting away multiple goals in Naples on Wednesday night, with an appealing 14/1 on offer for another 3-1 victory over Gli Azzurri.

However, while Real have been in good form, they haven’t been doing things the easy way of late. They’ve come from behind to grab a result in two of their last three games, meaning the 17/2 for Madrid to come from behind and win could prove popular, while there’s 20/1 on offer for Half Time/Full Time: Napoli/Real Madrid.

But if you’re looking for a safer bet on that theme, the 13/5 for Los Blancos to win and Both Teams to Score could prove a savvy selection.

Elsewhere, the 7/2 on Cristiano Ronaldo to be last goalscorer could be worth a flutter, with the Portuguese having closed the scoring in two of his last three games. Meanwhile, there’s 23/20 on offer for the prolific Dries Mertens to net anytime.

In the match betting, Real are 13/10 for victory, with Napoli 7/4 shots and the draw priced at 11/4.
