Man City just Evens to secure signature of Espanyol prodigy

Pep Guardiola’s overhaul of the Manchester City ranks looks sure to continue this summer, and one man seemingly set to head to the Etihad is Espanyol left-back Aaron Martin, with our traders making it Evens for the Citizens to be his next club.

The 19-year-old has burst into the Periquitos side this term in spectacular fashion. Having only made his first-team debut back in October, he’s since played the following 22 games in La Liga, leading the Catalan outfit to nine clean sheets along the way.

And the youngster has also impressed on the international stage, captaining the Spanish Under-19 side, before a recent call-up to La Rojita’s Under-21 side.

However, while Man City currently lead the race for his signature, they’re sure to face stiff competition this summer, with a host of European heavyweights also interested.

Real Madrid have been keeping tabs on the youngster for some time, and it’s 7/2 he heads to the Bernabeu, with a controversial move to Espanyol’s local rivals Barcelona priced at 5s.

They’re followed in the betting by Premier League champions-elect Chelsea (6/1), with Manchester United (8/1) and Arsenal (9/1) outsiders for the teenager’s signature.
