Man City favourites to win Emirates FA Cup, Man United 8/1 outsiders

Manchester City are the new favourites to lift this year’s Emirates FA Cup after seeing off Aitor Karanka’s Middlesbrough in their quarter-final clash.

That 2-0 victory has seen them overtake Arsenal as frontrunners, with 9/4 on offer for Pep Guardiola’s men to lift the famous cup for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign under Roberto Mancini.

The Gunners are just behind in this market at 3/1, largely thanks to their glorious history in this competition.

And although we won’t know who’ll play who until AFTER Chelsea’s meeting with Manchester United on Monday evening, Arsene Wenger’s side will certainly be facing a much tougher team than they’ve had to in the last two rounds.

Scoring seven goals combined against Sutton United and Lincoln City, the north London outfit have hardly taken this year’s tournament by storm – at least not yet.

Their neighbours, however, have been doing quite the opposite, with Mauricio Pochettino seemingly on a mission to win some silverware.

This afternoon’s convincing 6-0 hammering of Millwall meant Tottenham Hotspur have scored a staggering 16 goals in four Emirates FA Cup clashes this season, although they could be without key man Harry Kane, with the England international picking up a horrific injury in said defeat over the Lions.

Their reward for such an impressive route to the semis? A spot as joint-second favourites alongside the Gunners to lift the trophy at 3/1.

That leaves Chelsea and Man United at the back of the pack – but that undoubtedly all change in the next 24 hours or so depending on the outcome of their clash at Stamford Bridge.

Victory for the hosts will likely see them reinstalled as favourites to lift the cup at Wembley in May, while a win for Jose Mourinho’s United side would see their current odds of 8/1 fall substantially.

In short, whoever wins this one will have a great chance of going all the way this year, making the 10/3 for Chelsea and the 8/1 for United look like cracking value.
