Lukaku v Middlesbrough: Our traders price up incredible Match Bet

Published:

Romelu Lukaku is in the form of his life right now. A brace against Hull City this weekend took his tally to 21 for the season in the Premier League, making this his most prolific campaign in front of goal – and there are still nine games left for Everton to play between now and May.

But forget the Golden Boot market, our traders have priced up something completely different, and it’s something that not too many Middlesbrough fans will be happy with.

Indeed, those two strikes against Hull, coupled with Boro’s one goal against Man United this weekend means that the Belgium international has now scored more goals this season that the north east outfit.

Remarkable.

The Teesside outfit have managed 20 goals so far this season in 28 games, making them the lowest scoring side in all ten tiers of the English football pyramid.

And as a result, our traders are offering a market for Lukaku to outscore the Riverside Stadium outfit.

At 11/4, there could be some great value in that market, especially given that Boro have found the net just three times in the Premier League since the turn of the year.

To put that into context, Lukaku has managed nearly four times that amount in 2017, and he shows no sign of stopping any time soon.

Meanwhile, it’s just 1/3 that Boro’s fortunes turn in the coming weeks and the side manage to avoid embarrassment by outscoring the 23-year-old forward.

But right now, we’re struggling to find better value than the 11/4 on Lukaku scoring more than Boro. At this rate, he’s likely to net around 30 goals by the end of the season.

We’d be amazed if Middlesbrough managed to do the same.
