Liverpool boss Klopp ready to reunite with £30m Inter ace Ivan Perisic

After shining at last summer’s European Championships, Ivan Perisic was a man in demand. Inter Milan managed to keep hold of their star player, but they’re set to be under pressure again in the upcoming off-season.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea were linked with a move last summer, but according to Italian outlet Tuttomercato, the Anfield outfit are ready to launch a bid.

Jurgen Klopp signed Perisic for Borussia Dortmund six years ago, and despite a falling out during their time in Germany, it’s believed he remains a big fan of the forward.

Perisic is valued at just over £21m by transfermarkt.co.uk has has a contract with the San Siro club until 2020, meaning Liverpool will need to fork out around £30m.

But with nine goals and six assists in Serie A, the Liverpool decision makers may find that excellent value for money.

Inter have endured another mediocre season, and despite a late rally to move from mid-table into fifth, they’re set to watch rivals Juventus secure another league title.

Perisic’s pace and energy should slot nicely into Klopp’s high-tempo football on Merseyside, while his ability to play in a variety of offensive positions offers tactical flexibility.

The forward came through the youth ranks at French side Sochaux, before moving to Club Brugge in 2009.

After netting a stunning 22 goals in 37 games in 2010-11, Borussia Dortmund and Klopp came calling that summer in a £4.6m deal.

A fine first season yielded nine goals and six assists in all competitions. Things turned sour in the year two however, after finding first team opportunities hard to come by.

Perisic moved to Wolfsburg for £6.8m in January 2013, netting 21 goals in 88 appearances before moving to Inter for £16m in the summer of 2015.
