Ladbrokes Players Championship: Trump odds-on to land trophy

Judd Trump is just 4/7 to win this year’s Ladbrokes Players Championship after beating Ali Carter 6-4 to reach the final in Llandudno.

The Juddernaut has now reached five ranking title finals this season with this being his third in a row.

And the in-form potter is now odds-on to win his second competition of the campaign when he meets either Ding Junhui or Marco Fu in Sunday’s showpiece event.

Here’s Trump’s post-match reaction…

Meanwhile, the latter pairing meet tonight at the Venue Cymru with Ding the narrow favourite at odds of 4/5.

Fu is an even-money shot to prevail having already knocked out world number one and world champion Mark Selby at the prestigious Players Championship.

The Hong Kong cuesmith trails his opponent 9-5 in their head-to-head but did win through by a 6-3 scoreline when the pair last met in the 2016 China Championship.

It’s 7/1 for Fu to triumph by the same scoreline here with 6/4 on offer for Fu -1.5 frames.

However, if you can’t see past The Star of the East then get on the 5/4 for Ding -1.5 in what should be a tightly-matched clash.
