The countdown to this year’s Cheltenham Festival is in full swing and with less than two weeks to go we’re all busy pondering who’ll come out on top at Prestbury Park.

In terms of big race wins, few can rival the success of Irish trainer Willie Mullins.

The Closutton handler has enjoyed an incredible 48 Festival winners thus far and looks nailed on to add to that tally.

Mullins may be deprived of a few star names this year but it’d take an ambitious punter to believe the 66/1 for Willie to have no winners in 2017 will come in.

The likes of Djakadam, Douvan, Yorkhill, Vroum Vroum Mag, Limini, Carter McKay and Un De Sceaux are all still set to represent the Mullins yard.

And while the venerable handler might struggle to match 2016’s total of seven successes, there’s certainly value in the 6/4 for him to train between four and five winners.

Elsewhere, it’s 3/1 for Mullins to enjoy between one and three winners and 9/4 for the 60-year-old to taste victory with six or seven horses.

However, if you think the circa 40-horse Mullins squadron will match 2015’s incredible efforts then get on the 5/1 for eight winners or more at the upcoming four-day spectacular.
