Haye v Bellew 2.0: Traders already make Haye favourite for rematch

Published:

To anyone that backed Tony Bellew to beat David Haye, we take our hat off to you.

But we’re already thinking ahead to the future, and following post-match comments from both fighters, a market has already been opened for their hotly anticipated rematch.

And as things stand, Haye heads into it as the 2/5 favourite, although Bomber’s odds are considerably shorter than they were prior to the first bout at 2/1.

Haye enjoyed a solid start to the fight and looked as if he was getting into the swing of things before an injury mid-way through the match left Haye on the ropes for the majority of the match.

A defeated Haye said he can’t push forward without crossing paths with tonight’s opponent again. So while many of us were anticipating this bout to pave the way for a meeting with Anthony Joshua, it’s likely such a fight will be put on hold for the time being.

And as for Bellew, it looks as though he has no interest in competing with anyone else in the heavyweight division, ruling out a potential clash with AJ.

While emotions and adrenaline will play a huge part in what’s currently coming out of the mouths of the two fighters, it has to be said that both seem incredibly keen on a rematch. In fact, the Hayemaker even suggested he’d travel to Bellew’s hometown for Part Two of this epic battle.

An announcement is likely to be made over the coming days, but for the meantime, we can only go on the odds our boxing experts are offering. And with that in mind, Haye v Bellew 2.0 could well be on the cards.

But failing that, there’s always a chance the Hayemaker makes an appearance on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing (prices to be confirmed shortly!).
