England v Lithuania: Back Three Lions to win well at Wembley

England’s next step towards the 2018 World Cup sees them host Lithuania. But with Gareth Southgate’s men 1/9 favourites, we’re looking elsewhere for value at Wembley.

It’s 22/1 for a shock away win, while the draw is 15/2.

The two sides met in qualifying for last summer’s Euros, with England running out 3-0 and 4-0 victors.

With that in mind, backing the Three Lions on the -2 handicap looks excellent at Evens, while -3 is 12/5.

England have yet to concede in qualifying, while the visitors have already suffered one thumping on the road, in a 4-0 defeat to Slovakia.

Similarly, England on the Half-Time/Full-Time looks solid at 4/9. Or if you think Lithuania can hold out for a while, the Draw/England combination is 16/5.

Covering a few selections on the correct score market could be a wise option too.

A 2-0 home win is 9/2, as is 3-0, while 4-0 looks good at 13/2.

It seems likely that Jamie Vardy will get the nod from Southgate to start up front, and the Leicester City ace is 13/5 to break the deadlock.

And the pacy striker is 10/3 to bag two or more.

It’s 4/5 that Vardy scores in an England win, but better value may lie in the in-form Dele Alli.

The Tottenham man has enjoyed a sterling season, and 11/10 says he scores in a home success.

And with the likes of Michael Keane, James Ward-Prowse and Jake Livermore set to feature, backing any England player to net their first senior goal at 7/4 could be a shrewd approach.
