England odds-on to land historic 19th successive win

The 2017 Six Nations Championship reaches an all-too sudden conclusion this weekend, and even though England wrapped up the tournament last week there is still history to be made and records to be broken.
Principally, the Red Rose aim to secure a record-breaking 19th straight victory.
But to do it they must beat Ireland. In Dublin. On St Patrick’s weekend.
And a second successive Grand Slam is on the line too, something which has never been achieved in Six Nations history. France were the last to achieve the fete during the Five Nations in 1998.
So can England do it?
Our traders certainly seem to think so, with Jones’ men priced up at 8/13 to win on the Emerald Isle this Saturday.
The hosts are 11/8, and they’ll be desperate to both make amends for their loss to Wales and put an end to England’s recent run of success.
History shows England have won six of the last seven meetings, and that includes two of the last three trips to the Aviva Stadium.
And it also suggests that we could be in for a low-scoring clash.
Only one of the last four clashes in Dublin have seen the winner claim over 20 points.
It also lends itself to narrow margins of victory, with six of the last seven and eight of the last 10 decided by 11 points or fewer.
That makes the 10/11 on England -3 look rather tempting.
Similarly, the visitors to land that historic 19th successive win by 6-10 points at 9/2 could represent the best value of a fiercely-fought contest.
