Betting suspended on Prince Harry proposing this year

We’ve suspended betting on Prince Harry announcing his engagement to Meghan Markle before the year is out, following a rush of bets this morning.
Before the sustained gamble, the loved-up couple were already odds-on at 1/3 to get engaged in 2017.
And our traders now firmly believe that speculation surrounding Prince Harry giving the American actress an engagement ring for her birthday on August 4 has prompted the flutter.
In terms of other markets, it’s now just 1-4 (from 1-2) on the couple tying the knot in 2018.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “The sound of wedding bells is getting louder and louder as far as punters are concerned. This latest rush of bets has left us with no choice but to pull the plug on Prince Harry getting engaged this year.”
“As far as we are concerned, it’s no longer a case of will the couple get married but when, with 2018 looking highly likely.”
