Alan Pardew the odds-on favourite to be next Norwich City manager

Published:

Former Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is the early favourite to be named the next permanent Norwich City manager following last night’s sacking of Alex Neil.

Pardew is just 4/7 to take the Carrow Road hotseat and help revitalise the Canaries’ stuttering promotion bid.

Gary Rowett is next on the list at odds of 11/4 while Roy Hodgson, who had been heavily linked with the vacant position at Leicester City, is 8/1 to get the job.

The veteran gaffer is known to be friends with Norwich owners Delia Smith and Michael Wyn while it’s been reported locally that Hodgson was a guest of the duo when the club played Leeds United last November.

Elsewhere, Mark Warburton is another out of work manager seeking a return to football and he’s also an 8/1 shot.

Other leading candidates include Paul Heckingbottom (9/1) and Alan Irvine (10/1) while it’s 20/1 bar from there on in with the likes of Nigel Pearson (20/1) and Tim Sherwood (20/1) also priced up.

Irvine is a potential market mover given the fact that he’s already the First Team Coach of the Norfolk outfit and he’ll take charge of the team for today’s game against Blackburn Rovers.
