Ronald Koeman favourite to replace Enrique at Barcelona

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has been installed as the early favourite to replace Luis Enrique at Barcelona, according to the latest odds.

We’ve opened betting on the next Barca boss for the first time following the Catalan giants’ 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League last-16, first leg game.

And it’s club legend Koeman who currently leads the way at 3/1 to replace the beleaguered incumbent.

Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde is also fancied at 4/1, with the Spaniard having also inflicted a 4-0 pasting upon Barca back in August 2015.

But back to matters at hand and the man who masterminded last night’s defeat, Unai Emery, is a 10/1 shot.

Meanwhile, we’re ruling out Pep Guardiola making a sensational return with the Manchester City supremo way back in the betting at 16/1.

Barcelona are 10/1 to turn the tie around at the Nou Camp and qualify for the next round while the victory has brought PSG’s odds of landing the Champions League crashing in to 6/1 from 33/1.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “It’s no secret Koeman has his eyes on the Barcelona job and the betting suggests his time could come sooner rather than later barring a miracle second leg at the Nou Camp.”
