Razzle and Patriot joint-favs for the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket
The 2017 edition of the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket produced six thrilling Heats last Saturday, with four out of the six race favourites obliging at Crayford.
Jimbobjoe, Rubys Razzle, Slippy Maska, Boylesports Star, Jaytee Patriot and Office Flirt were your winners and each of those contenders have subsequently seen their odds cut.
Hazel Kemp’s Slippy Maska clocked the fastest time of the night (45.29sec) when making all to complete a course and distance hat-trick.
The impressive puppy had originally been entered as a 100/1 shot for success but is now available at odds of just 7/1 to win this year’s competition.
Office Flirt (7/1) enjoyed the biggest winning distance on the night with his eight-and-three-quarter-length margin of victory leaving the rest fighting it out for the minor honours.
Rick Holloway’s Jimbobjoe (8/1) picked the lock of Trapper Kerry to take the opening heat while Jaytee Patriot (5/1) also swooped late to score in heat five.
However, arguably the most eye-catching performance was that of fellow Irish raider, Boylesports Star.
The Dolores Ruth-trained dog had never seen the Kent circuit before and had plenty of trouble to deal with early on. But the son of Razldazl Billy fought back incredibly well to take the spoils.
And finally, last year’s winning trainer Mark Wallis enjoyed more success with outright joint-favourite Rubys Razzle popping out to win decisively.
