Pearson and O’Neill see odds cut to be next Leicester City boss

Next Leicester City Manager odds - Nigel Pearson

Leicester City are adopting the ‘better the devil you know’ approach to managerial recruitment if the latest odds are anything to go by.

Two former Foxes have been well-backed to take the vacant position at the King Power Stadium with both Nigel Pearson and Martin O’Neill surging up the betting.

Pearson is now 6/1 (from 8/1) to make a sensational return to the East Midlands while 10/1 (from 16/1) is on offer for Republic of Ireland gaffer O’Neill to fill the position following the sacking of title-winning boss, Claudio Ranieri.

Roberto Mancini still tops the list but the former Manchester City supremo is now 3/1 (from 4/6) to manage the club where he ended his illustrious playing career.

However, Sky Sports are reporting that Mancini is not interested in the Leicester hotseat meaning we’re still none the wiser as to who will fill Ranieri’s shoes.

Alan Pardew is another 6/1 shot with Guus Hiddink (8/1) and Gary Rowett (9/1) also prominent.

Meanwhile, caretaker boss Craig Shakespeare is 10/1 to get the gig full-time.

A win on Monday against Liverpool would do his chances no harm at all but odds of 17/4 suggest it’ll be a tall order to take three vital points against Jurgen Klopp’s outfit.
