Odds slashed on Chelsea beating points record, staying unbeaten

Published:

We’ve slashed the odds on Chelsea beating their own Premier League points record AND remaining unbeaten for the remainder of the season following their decisive 3-1 victory over title rivals Arsenal.

Goals from Marcos Alonso, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas did the damage at Stamford Bridge with Olivier Giroud netting a late consolation for the Gunners.

And we’re now offering 16/1 for the Blues to break their own record and win the title collecting 96 points or more.

Antonio Conte’s side have already picked up 59 points from 24 games, dropping just five points in their last 18 matches.

Meanwhile, it’s now 10/1 from 16s that The Pensioners remain unbeaten for the rest of the season.

With only one defeat in their last 18 league games that price could well be cut further in the coming weeks.

In the outright market, Chelsea are just 1/9 to be crowned the 2016-17 champions with Manchester City and Tottenham next best at 10s apiece.

Arsenal and Liverpool have been the biggest losers in recent weeks and their poor form has resulted in them both being pushed out to 50/1.

And the really ambitious punter can get 66/1 on Jose Mourinho getting his own back on his old team by leading Manchester United to what would be a remarkable success.

Wenger and Klopp are feeling the heat

Elsewhere, as we’ve already reported, Arsene Wenger is now just 8/11 to leave Arsenal by the start of next season with under-fire Jurgen Klopp 10/1 to leave Anfield this term or 4/1 to go before the 2017-18 campaign gets underway.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Another dreadful day for Liverpool has seen the odds of the once unthinkable prospect of Klopp moving on shorten again. As far as Chelsea are concerned, it’s now simply a case of how far they win the league by with the likelihood of this team entering the record books increasing again.”
