Man United’s Bailly urges Jose to snap up Atalanta star Kessie

One of Manchester United’s summer transfer targets must be Atalanta’s star midfielder Franck Kessie.

That’s the view of current Red Devil Eric Bailly, according to the Sun.

Bailly and Kessie play together internationally for the Ivory Coast, and the centre-half has urged the Old Trafford head honchos to make a move.

Kessie has been tracked by a number of Premier League and European heavyweights this season, including Chelsea and Juventus.

The 20-year-old has shone for the Bergamo outfit this season, helping them to a highly-commendable sixth in Serie A right now.

And despite playing in a holding role for much of the campaign, Kessie has already bagged six goals this term, plus two assists.

His contract with Atalanta runs until 2021, but that might not be enough to stop a number of offers coming in this summer.

Valued at £10m by transfermarkt.co.uk, Man United fans may see Kessie as the natural successor to Michael Carrick.

Kessie began his career in his homeland with Stella Club, before being signed by Atalanta in 2015.

And having proven himself more than up to the challenge of Serie A, the midfielder has also gained internatonal recognition with 10 caps for Les Elephants.

For now, Man United and boss Jose Mourinho will turn their attention to domestic affairs, when they take on Blackburn in the Emirates FA Cup.

And our odds of 7/20 suggest the Premier League giants will be putting their name in the hat for Monday’s quarter-final draw.
