Liverpool boss to be sacked? #KloppOut trends after Leicester City defeat

Published:

What’s going on at Liverpool? In truth nobody is quite sure, but the uncertainty surrounding Anfield right now doesn’t bode well for the future of Jurgen Klopp.

For so long he’s been adored by Liverpool fans, but a detailed assessment of his time with the club makes said admiration questionable.

For starters, he’s three points worse off than former manager Brendan Rodgers was after the same amount of Premier League games.

And since taking over, he’s finished in a disappointing eighth place, lost two cup finals (Europa League and EFL Cup), been knocked out of this year’s Emirates FA Cup by Championship outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers and is currently on a run of just two victories in 12 games since the turn of the year.

With that in mind, it’s no surprise to see him priced as short as 5/1 NOT to be in charge on the opening day of next season

Settling into life in England is no longer an excuse for the former Borussia Dortmund gaffer.

Since he took over at Anfield, Claudio Ranieri has won the league with Leicester City AND been sacked after a series of poor performances.

If that can happen, then surely no one’s job is safe – including Klopp.

And it looks as though the fans are finally beginning to turn on the German…

And despite being well in the title race earlier on in the season, the Reds are now a 4/6 shot to finish outside of the top four for the eighth time in nine seasons.

It doesn’t end there though in terms of a catastrophic slide down the table for the Reds. They’re 8/1 to finish outside of the top six. And considering the form that local rivals Everton are currently in – we wouldn’t back against that happening right now, with 8/1 on offer for the Toffees to finish above their neighbours.

And of course, were Liverpool to go yet another season without Champions League football, that would likely spell the end of both Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino’s time on Merseyside – contract extensions or no contract extensions.

As things stand, it’s 3/1 for the former to leave, while 5/1 says Firmino exits. And our traders aren’t ruling out a double blow for the two players both to exit in the summer, with 20/1 on offer for that scenario.

But what do fans think?

Just how does Klopp stop the rot? Or is it time for someone else to step in?
