Is this Man United first-teamer heading for an early Old Trafford exit?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

He may have only arrived back in the summer, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be set for an early Manchester United exit, if comments from his agent are to be believed.

When asked about his client’s plans for the future, Mino Raiola said Ibrahimovic has “always been in love with the city of Naples”, and that “with Zlatan, you never know what could happen”.

Of course, those comments have led to several publications reporting that the 35-year-old could be off at the end of the season.

And our traders certainly aren’t taking any chances, and have already slashed odds of the striker joining Napoli to just 5/1 from 16/1 some 24 hours ago.

Though he’s settled in nicely and is adored by every United fan across the globe, Ibrahimovic’s future in Manchester could depend largely on where the Red Devils finish this season.

The veteran forward took a risk joining Jose Mourinho’s revolution in the summer, knowing United had no Champions League football to speak of. He did that expecting this side to challenge first and foremost for the Premier League title this year, and will have considered a top four finish as a mediocre season.

However, as things stand, United are some way off the pace, currently in sixth place in the league. They’re 14 points off leaders Chelsea and four adrift of the top quartet.

So will Zlatan be moving on at the end of this season if Man United fail to qualify for the biggest club competition in Europe?

The latest odds suggest that’s certainly a possible scenario.

Meanwhile, it’s 3/1 for Ibrahimovic to return to his boyhood club, Malmo, while a move to the Chinese Super League hasn’t been ruled out at 8/1.

But those of you that think Sweden’s all-time leading goalscorer will hang up his boots at Old Trafford can get odds of 5/1.
