Inverness CT v Rangers: Signs point to narrow victory for visitors

Published:

Rangers may head to the Highlands without a manager, but the stats suggest it’ll be alright on the night for the Gers, as they face off against an Inverness Caledonian Thistle side in dismal form.

For their part, Rangers have been hit and miss of late, but they are still winning fairly frequently. The Ibrox outfit have come out on top in three of their last six games, including an impressive 2-0 win away at Motherwell.

What Inverness would give for a record like that. They’ve won just once in the last 21 games, and that was against Ladbrokes League 2 side Elgin City. And during the past month, they’ve suffered a 3-0 defeat to Hamilton Academical and a 6-0 mauling at the hands of Celtic.

History also points to a victory for the Gers. They’ve beaten Inverness 1-0 in each of the last three meetings, so the 6/1 for the same scoreline on Friday Night should prove popular.

One of those wins was secured with a goal from the evergreen Kenny Miller, who is enjoying another purple patch at present. The 37-year-old has scored five times in his last seven outings, and it’s 11/8 he nets here.

However, with the visitors looking good for the three points, it’s the 11/5 for Miller to score and Rangers to win which could offer the best value – while the Miller: Rangers 1-0 scorecast could also be worth a flutter at 22/1.

Meanwhile, for those who think the Teddy Bears’ goal(s) could come from elsewhere, there’s 21/10 on offer for them to win to nil.

But if you are looking to back some long-awaited Inverness joy, defender Carl Tremarco is the man to go with. The defender has racked up an impressive seven goals already this term, so it’s a surprise to see him as long as 9/1 to score anytime.

In the match betting, Rangers are firm favourites at 5/6 for victory, with 16/5 for a Caley Thistle win and the draw priced up at 13/5.
