ICYMI: Hearts run riot as Rangers are thrashed at Tynecastle

Don Cowie - Hearts

Heart of Midlothian boss Ian Cathro grabbed the biggest win of his fledgling career in the Tynecastle dugout last night as the hosts thumped Rangers 4-1 in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

Mark Warburton’s side couldn’t find an answer to Hearts’ relentless attacking play in the second-half and they were well beaten by Cathro’s new-look outfit.

Krystian Nowak set the home side on their way after just four minutes but Emerson Hyndman at least ensured the Ibrox club went in level at half-time.

However, it was one-way traffic after the break with Jamie Walker’s fine long-range strike putting the home side ahead soon after the re-start.

Don Cowie then tapped in the third after Bjorn Johnsen had made mincemeat of Clint Hill while Walker completed his brace and added some further gloss to the scoreline when prodding home.

Here’s the best of the action…

Hearts have closed to within six points of third-placed Aberdeen while Rangers remain second in the Ladbrokes Premiership table.
