Haye v Bellew: How Twitter is preparing for the big fight
Published:There’s no belt up for grabs, but that hasn’t stopped the hype around David Haye and Tony Bellew’s upcoming bout being as big as we’ve seen in recent years in the sport. One has been working hard with his training camp in Rotherham, while the other has seemingly been taking it easy in Miami.
But with less than a week to go until the pair step into the ring at the O2 Arena, each boxer looks more prepared than they’ve ever been.
Their Behind the Ropes special show got the fans talking, their appearance on The Gloves Are Off was a tense 25 minutes of television, and their press conference in Liverpool this week went exactly how you’d have expected it to have gone.
Of course, the home fans were right behind the current WBC cruiserweight champion, while they booed the Hayemaker for much of the press conference. In fact, it has to be said that for the first time in the build-up to this fight, Haye looked genuinely rumbled in front of the hostile crown in Merseyside.
Whether or not that’ll play into Bellew’s hands, we’ll find out on fight night.
But we’ve scoured the Twittersphere to see exactly how fans are expecting this one to pan out…

Bellew’s trainer Dave Coldwell summed up the pre-fight atmosphere…
Back home from a long but good day in Liverpool.

Unfortunately, we can’t report some of the lines!
One of the best press conferences I’ve ever been to that. Some of the lines that the fans were coming out with were superb. #HayeBellew

Will ‘average’ be good enough?
Overall , how do you rate Tony Bellew as a boxer? #HayeBellew

That’s one way of putting it, Ben!
I closed my eyes and listened to the Haye-Bellew press conference and imagined I was present at a verbal joust between Wilde and Churchill.

Is Haye’s trash talk a sign of weakness?
#BellewHaye Still think it’s Haye early doors but Bellew has him rattled big time mentally

But David isn’t the only person who reckons Haye is rattled…
