Forget waiting, Arsenal fans deserve to know Wenger’s decision right now

To say there’s an air of uncertainty at the Emirates right now would be the understatement of the century. And given that stability has been key to Arsene Wenger’s 21-year spell in charge of Arsenal, the irony now is that nobody knows what the future holds.
That’s why the Frenchman should forget about delaying his decision for a couple of months. Supporters have a right to know what is going on at the club right now.
The truth is that Wenger knows whether or not he’ll be staying. He won’t admit that, but his mind won’t be made up in the next few weeks.
And given the growing number of fans who are calling for his head, it’d be better for all parties if he comes out and tells us his plans immediately.
It’s clear the uncertainty is having an effect both on and off the field. Players are looking disinterested, and fans are growing impatient. The media are expecting the 67-year-old to call it a day, while the odds on him leaving at the end of the season continue to fall.
So wouldn’t it be better for all parties if we knew where he stood?
If that were to be the case, even the #wengerout brigade would get behind the manager for one final push.
As things stand, that’s not the case at all.
The banners are coming, as a number of Arsenal Fan TV’s regular guests have said. That won’t do anyone any good – but you can see why it’s happening.
These fans have followed the team week-in, week-out across Europe for years, witnessing the same thing – Arsenal crumbling on the big stage.
They’ve seen the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea spend huge sums of money on some of the best players in world football while they’ve had to settle for arrivals such as Lucas Perez and Granit Xhaka.
They’ve witnessed four different clubs lift the Premier League trophy – including Leicester City – since they last did.
Surely the least they deserve is some clarity.
Some immediate clarity.
