Everton and Man City favourites to sign Arsenal winger this summer

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looks set to be the subject of one of the biggest transfer battles of the summer, with a whole host of Premier League clubs keeping an eye on the Arsenal ace. But as things stand, it’s Manchester City and Everton who lead the way in the race for his signature.

The 23-year-old is set to assess his options at the end of the season, after struggling to hold down a regular place in Arsene Wenger’s starting XI.

He has featured in 21 of the Gunners’ 25 league games this season, but over 50 per cent of those appearances have been from the bench, and he’s averaging just 50 minutes of game time per week in the top-flight.

Pep Guardiola set to go on yet another spending spree this summer at the Etihad, and it’s thought the City boss is keen to add the Ox to his ranks. And our traders make it a 3/1 shot that the midfielder teams up with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne in Manchester.

Ronald Koeman, meanwhile, is also thought to be an admirer of Oxlade-Chamberlain. And while the prospect of playing for City might seem too good to refuse, he’s likely to face similar problems getting into Guardiola’s plans.

That’s where the Toffees could have the upper hand, as the Arsenal man would almost certainly walk straight into Koeman’s starting line-up.

At 4/1, we reckon there could be some real value in this bet.

It remains unclear just what Wenger’s plans are for the England international. While his versatility is a bonus for the north London outfit, fans are growing frustrated that the former Southampton youth product isn’t being given a long enough run in one set position to prove himself.

While City and Everton lead the way, plenty of other clubs will be interested in acquiring Oxlade-Chamberlain’s services should he become available.

And our traders make it a 8/1 shot that he joins Liverpool, while 12/1 says he signs for Manchester United.

West Ham will be looking to add plenty of quality to their squad this summer, and Slaven Bilic will have money available to spend following Dimitri Payet’s exit last month. It’s 16/1 for the Ox to make the move to the London Stadium.

A Southampton return hasn’t been ruled out either, with 10/1 on offer for that deal going ahead.
