Does this Man United star potentially hold the key to Griezmann deal?

Everything is beginning to point towards Atletico Madrid star Antoinne Griezmann joining Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United revolution in the summer. Rumours are intensifying and the odds on the striker making the move are rapidly falling.

But there’s one man we’re forgetting about who could have a say on whether or not this deal goes ahead, and the person in question is Anthony Martial.

Last night was the 10th time in the Premier League that the France international was forced to watch his teammates from the sidelines this season, and reports are suggesting he’s growing increasingly frustrated over the lack of game-time he’s getting.

Of course, that’ll spark interest from a whole host of elite European clubs who’d snap Mourinho’s hand off for a player of Martial’s quality.

But given United’s interest in Griezmann, it’s Atletico that’ll be leading the way in the race for Martial’s signature.

It’s likely Griezmann’s arrival would coincide with a handful of fringe players at Old Trafford moving on. And as things stand, Martial would fall even further down the pecking order should his compatriot sign.

Add to that the fact that the La Liga outfit will want to replace Griezmann with a similar kind of player, and they could strike a cash-plus-player deal with the Red Devils.

It’s certainly something the United board would consider, as it’s likely they’d otherwise have to part ways with a figure close to the world record transfer fee they set last year were they to sign Griezmann without sending Martial the other way.

And it’s a deal the former Monaco man would himself welcome. Having played in both France and England despite turning 21 just two months ago, he’d arrive in Madrid with a wealth of experience.

Griezmann is reportedly all but set to join Man United in the summer, following a suggestion that a deal between the two clubs in question has already been agreed.

But will said deal involve Martial?

Do you think there’s a future at Old Trafford for their current number 11? Or should he move on?
