Conservatives now 8/1 to pull off a shock by-election double
Published:The Conservatives are being heavily backed to pull off a shock double by-election win according to the latest odds.
With victory in Copeland looking all but sewn up at 1/3, money is still pouring in for a Tory win in Stoke-on-Trent.
And it’s now just a 6/1 chance that Jack Brereton is elected having been chalked up as a 50/1 outsider only a week ago.
Following Tristram Hunt’s resignation last month, Labour and UKIP (9/4) have been jostling for favouritism.
But with Paul Nuttall’s vote coming under increasing pressure, that’s left Jeremy Corbyn’s party in pole position for the Staffordshire seat at 4/7.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Political punters are continuing to back the Tories in Stoke and it’s not out of the realms of possibility they pull off an unprecedented by-election double.”
