Arsenal trio could leave the club this summer, our traders say

Things are looking worse and worse for Arsenal fans. After falling some 12 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea in the title race, our traders have since priced up the chances of three huge names going at the end of the season.

Yesterday, we saw Arsene Wenger’s odds to leave the club at the end of the season fall to just 8/11 for the first time this season, and it’s looking increasingly likely that this trio will following him out of the Emirates…

Alexis Sanchez – 11/10 to go

Having been linked in recent weeks with some of the biggest clubs in Europe, there’s also the ongoing worry that the Chile international will opt for a move to China in the summer.

The only way the Gunners can keep hold of a player like Sanchez is to win trophies.

Now 50/1 to win the Premier League and 25/1 for the Champions League, they only realistically have a chance of winning the Emirates FA Cup. But that’s a competition which Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham are all still going strong in.

Even if the Gunners could go on and win it, would that be enough to keep Sanchez at the Emirates? Probably not.

Mesut Ozil – 11/8 to go

Once again we were let down by Ozil’s performance in a huge game as Chelsea breezed past Arsenal this weekend. There were suggestions he didn’t deserve a place in Wenger’s starting XI, and he did very little to proves his doubters wrong.

He’s reportedly said his decision to stay on at the club will depend on whether or not Wenger remains in charge.

That’s something which is looking all the more unlikely with each passing game – meaning the north London outfit could be waving goodbye to the World Cup winner.

However, his inability to stand out in bigger games means that may not necessarily be a bad thing…

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7/4 to go

The Ox dropped a real clanger this weekend after liking a tweet suggesting Wenger has to go.

Of course, the England international admitted it was accidental, but it won’t have done his chances of securing a first-team place much good.

This weekend was another example of Oxlade-Chamberlain’s inconsistency. One game he’s simply unplayable, the next he’s unnoticeable.

At 23, he’s at an age where we can’t keep giving him the benefit of the doubt. The midfielder has 120 Premier League appearances to his name – he’s no longer a young lad with potential. He’s actually one of Wenger’s most experienced players right now.

But the emergence of Alex Iwobi in the last 18 months has seen the Ox fall further down the pecking order, and there’s a growing feeling that this season could be his last in north London.
