Agent confirms Romelu Lukaku is staying put at Everton

In news that is a blow to this summer’s rumour mill, but great for Everton fans – Romelu Lukaku is staying put at Goodison Park.

The star striker’s agent, Mino Raiola confirmed that the Belgian has committed his long-term future to the Toffees.

The 23-year-old has been consistently linked with a move away from Merseyside, but it appears Lukaku is now going to stick around for the long-haul.

The Toffees are going well under Ronald Koeman this season, and are only six points off the Champions League spots.

But even if they do miss out on the top-four, a return to Europe looks likely following Manchester United’s EFL Cup win, which means the seventh-placed Premier League side lands a Europa League spot.

Lukaku has been at the heart of all Everton’s good-work this season, and his goal in the 2-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday took his tally to 17 for the league campaign.

Sitting alongside Harry Kane and Alexis Sanchez at the top of the scoring, we make it 4/1 Lukaku bags this season’s Premier League Golden Boot.

It’s the fourth time in five seasons that the former Chelsea man has hit at least 15 league goals in a season, and we can now expect to see plenty more of that in the years to come.

Lukaku joined Everton on a permanent basis in 2014 for a fee of around £30m.

With just over two years left to run on his current deal, Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid had all been linked with a move for the striker.
