Tottenham on alert as Barcelona eye Pochettino to succeed Enrique

With reports suggesting Dele Alli is wanted by Barcelona, now Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is also set to be a target of the Catalan giants.

It has been claimed over in Spain that current Camp Nou coach Luis Enrique could leave Barca at the end of the season.

The La Liga heavyweights sit six points off rivals Real Madrid in the La Liga title race.

Enrique is yet to agree new terms with Barcelona, and it remains to be seen where and what the Spaniard chooses to do if he moves on this summer.

Pochettino has become one of the most sought-after coaches in Europe in recent years, and has strong connections with Barcelona.

The Argentinian began his coaching career with Espanyol, impressing during three and a half years in charge.

Having only signed a contract extension with Spurs last May however, Barcelona would have to pay a sizeable fee to claim his services.

Pochettino’s star continues to rise in the European game, and will enhance further still if he can return Tottenham to next season’s Champions League.

And after leading Spurs to five wins on the spin – including a superb victory over Chelsea – the Argentine is on course to do just that.

But while he continues to bring success to White Hart Lane, will that also bring increasing envy back in Barcelona?
