Three ways you should back a Chelsea win at White Hart Lane
Chelsea’s current 13-game winning streak has seen Antonio Conte’s men leave their Premier League title challengers in the dust. So it’s some surprise to see our traders currently pricing them as narrow outsiders ahead of their midweek meeting with fourth-placed Tottenham.
So, with the champions-elect generously priced across the board, here are the three bets Ladbrokes News reckon will really take advantage of the odds on offer.
Because while the 9/5 for a Blues victory is temptingly priced, there’s even better value elsewhere. Starting with a certain brilliant Belgian…
It’s Paradise for Eden
No fixture seems to bring the best out of Eden Hazard quite like this one does. The wing wizard has found the net in four of the last seven meetings between these sides, as well as getting a pair of assists in his first game against the Lilywhites.
Having scored just four Premier League goals last season, the resurgent 25-year-old has now netted nine times in 18 league outings this term – including a Boxing Day strike against AFC Bournemouth. Expect him to continue that momentum at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.
Back Blues to be at the double
The 4-2 victory over Stoke City on New Year’s Eve marked the fourth time the Blues have won by a two-goal margin during their current winning sequence – with each of the other three occasions coming away from home.
With the Blues having secured that feat against Southampton and pre-season title favourites Manchester City already this season, as well as beating Manchester United 4-0, there’s little doubt they can do more than just edge their way to victory.
Best Bet: Chelsea to win by two goals @ 15/2
Conte’s men can open and close the show
En route to that record of 13 victories and counting, the Blues have either won to nil or had a strong start and late rally to thank. That’s reflected in the fact they’ve scored first and last in 11 of those outings.
Against Stoke they led twice but were pegged back on each occasion, before turning up the heat again to notch up a 4-2 victory. Meanwhile, the four consecutive clean sheets they recorded before that game meant they rarely looked in doubt of losing in this market.
