Merseyside v Manchester: Liverpool & Everton or United & City?

John Lennon or Noel Gallagher? John Bishop or Jason Manford? Liverpool ONE or the Trafford Centre? Depending on your answers to the above, you’ll probably have pretty strong feelings either way about Sunday’s footballing fiasco.

They’re the two most decorated cities in English football, and on Sunday the respective giants of Liverpool and Manchester do battle. Jurgen Klopp’s Reds head to Old Trafford, while Everton host a Man City side who put five past West Ham United last weekend.

And in honour of this explosive double-header, we’ve priced up a series of fantastic specials sure to excite those at either end of the East Lancs Road.

There’s 4/6 on offer for Man United and City to outscore the Merseyside clubs, while those of a Scouse persuasion will be more interested in the 11/4 for Klopp and Ronald Koeman’s charges to net more than the Mancunian pair.

It’s 3/1 that punters back the duo of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Sergio Aguero both to score – which could lead to some unusual allegiances in homes across Manchester – while 15/2 says goals for Daniel Sturridge and Romelu Lukaku will have regulars of the Kop and Gwladys Street End celebrating in unison.

However, while they share a history of Industry and footballing finesse, the clubs of these two regions also have a common habit of feisty fixtures when they face off.

That means we’ve priced up players for both United and City being given an early bath at 40/1, while it’s 50/1 we see a dismissal for both Everton and Liverpool this weekend.
