Man United and Chelsea ready to pounce if AC Milan ace’s contract talks fail

Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid are lining up to swoop in on AC Milan for their sought-after goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Dubbed the ‘new Gigi Buffon’ Donnarumma is widely regarded as the finest up-and-coming goalkeeper in Europe.

And despite being only 17, he has become AC’s de facto number one stopper.

But Donnarumma’s contract comes to an end in 2018, and it’s believed I Rossineri are understandably desperate to tie their star man down long-term.

But while AC Milan await the takeover of Sino-Europe Sports, talks have come to a halt.

And as long that status quo goes on, Man United will fancy their chances for one very good reason.

This is where Mino Raiola enters the fray.

The Italian is Donnarumma’s agent, but also happens to represent three of Man United’s biggest stars.

Step forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba – all of whom joined the Red Devils last summer.

Real Madrid are known to be looking for a replacement for Keylor Navas, but if United become favourites for Donnarumma, that in turn opens up Real’s door to David de Gea.

Chelsea then, appear to be the outsiders here.

Donnarumma made his Serie A debut in October 2015, and has since gone on to become one of the biggest goalkeeping talents on the continent.

The teenager has been an ever-present for the San Siro outfit this season, keeping seven clean sheets as AC just outside the top four in fifth.
