Leicester in pole position to pluck Euro 2016 star from Norwich

Four points from their last two games have given Leicester City some breathing space above the drop zone, and the club’s push to avoid a relegation battle could be further boosted by the signing of Norwich City left-back Robbie Brady.

Our traders make the Foxes 7/4 favourites to sign the 24-year-old this month, with Claudio Ranieri unsurprisingly keen to add to his current options of the experienced but sluggish Christian Fuchs and the inconsistent Jeffrey Schlupp.

Brady was one of Norwich’s few standout players in last season’s doomed Premier League season, proving a reliable presence in the Canaries’ backline, as well as chipping in with three vital goals and multiple assists.

However, it was his superb displays for Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016 which really showed the defender’s progression, as he played every minute of the campaign, scoring against Italy and France along the way.

But those displays mean Leicester – unsurprisingly – will have to battle other potential suitors, with Crystal Palace and Newcastle United both 3/1 to secure his signature in this window.

The Eagles bid £7m for Brady earlier in the window, but his current club are apparently unwilling to part with the Manchester United youth product for anything less than £13m.

That kind of figure could put off Brighton & Hove Albion (7/1) and Burnley (10/1), though both still have an outside chance of swooping for the talented full-back in the coming weeks.

Next up for Leicester is a visit to Everton in the Emirates FA Cup, with 7/2 for the Foxes to enjoy a second successive victory at Goodison Park.
