Leeds United favourites to re-sign midfielder from Man City

Leeds United fans are beaming right now, with their side chalking up six wins and a draw in the last seven games. And things could be about to get even better at Elland Road, with the Whites emerging as favourites to re-sign Fabian Delph.

The 27-year-old came through the Leeds youth setup, going on to play 51 times for the Yorkshire giants, before heading to Aston Villa – where he enjoyed six impressive seasons – until moving to Manchester City back in 2015.

However, the England international has struggled for both form and fitness at the Etihad, and having found himself out of favour under Pep Guardiola, he could well be open to a move.

That’s sparked the interest of Whites boss Garry Monk, with Leeds now just 4/1 to be Delph’s next club, and 6/1 to snap the Bradford-born midfielder up before the January transfer window closes.

Another of his former employers – Aston Villa – are 6s to sign Delph from City, with West Brom priced at 7/1 and Championship heavyweights Newcastle United 8/1 to snap up the experienced midfielder.

A Ladbrokes Spokesperson said: “The good times look to be returning at Elland Road, and the rise of the fallen giants could continue with Delph’s dramatic homecoming.”

Leeds will look to close the six-point gap on the automatic promotion spots as they travel to Barnsley this weekend, with 23/20 for Monk’s men to secure all three points at Oakwell.

Meanwhile, there’s 3/1 on offer for the Whites to win promotion to the Premier League this season – a price which could quickly tumble if they can bring Delph on board in the coming days.
