Leeds, Bolton & Wycombe are our picks for an EFL promotion treble

With every team in the EFL having played at least 25 games, it’s fair to say we’ve seen enough from each division to be able to pick out three sides in particular who can expect to be celebrating promotion come May.
And at 30/1, we certainly reckon this is treble is worth getting behind…
Championship – Leeds United
Garry Monk continues to work wonders in Yorkshire with a Leeds side who found themselves way down in 15th place after eight games.
Fast forward to today, and the Whites are one of the form sides in the division, winning 10 of their last 13 Championship matches.
It’s that form which has seen them climb up to third in the table, just seven points off top spot.
While an automatic promotion push may be asking too much of Monk’s men given their shaky start, there’s every reason to believe they’ll return to the Premier League via the play-offs.
They’re eight points clear of seventh placed Derby County, meaning a top six spot should be all but guaranteed, barring a complete meltdown in the final 20 games of the season.
If anyone is capable of getting Leeds back in the big time, it’s Garry Monk.
League One – Bolton Wanderers
Granted, the form books suggest they’re struggling right now.
But they’re only five points off an automatic place, with a game in hand over Scunthorpe United in second.
Boasting by far the best defence in the division and a dangerous partnership up-front in Zach Clough and Gary Madine, we’re expecting the Trotters to be there or thereabout come the end of the season.
And if they fail to go up automatically, you’d be a brave punter to back against them coming out of the play-offs unscathed.
Premier League experience is running through Phil Parkinson’s squad – and it’s likely that’ll give them the edge as the campaign reaches its latter stages.
League Two – Wycombe Wanderers
Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth has done a remarkable job in recent months. Back on October 25, we were offering odds of 33/1 for the Chairboys to win promotion.
But they’re actually unbeaten in the league since then, picking up nine wins and three draws in that time.
That’s seen them shoot up the table from 21st to 5th, and it’s a run which shows no sign of ending any time soon.
Similarly to Leeds, automatic promotion seems a tall order. But if Wycombe can keep this kind of form up over the next few weeks, then supporters will surely feel confident of a return to the third tier of English football after five seasons away.
