Hull City v Man United: Visitors to continue second-half flourish

Published:

Manchester United head to the KCOM Stadium with one foot in the final after a 2-0 victory against Hull City in their EFL Cup semi-final first leg. But the stats suggest Jose Mourinho’s men won’t be taking their foot off the pedal in East Yorkshire.

The visitors stretched their unbeaten run to a staggering 17 games following last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Stoke City – and much of that can be put down to their rediscovered knack for late goals.

The Red Devils have now won the second-half of each of their last eight games, scoring an incredible seven goals beyond the 80-minute mark. Oh, and they’ve only conceded twice after the interval during those eight outings. So the 4/5 for Mourinho’s men to win the second half looks like a very safe bet.

Elsewhere, the 5/6 for Both Teams to Score also looks like one for the ‘banker’ category. United have scored in every one of their last 18 games, while the Tigers have found the net in seven of their last eight fixtures.

And there’s 21/10 on offer for United to win and Both Teams to Score – something which we’ve seen happen 10 times already this campaign.

One man who’s likely to get among the goals is record-breaker Wayne Rooney. Seven of his 250 goals for the North-West giants have come against Hull, and with the 31-year-old high on confidence right now, the 6/4 for him to net anytime looks well worth a flutter.

On the other side, Robert Snodgrass could prove an inspired bet in this market. He’s 3/1 to add to his tally of nine goals for the campaign anytime – including two in the EFL Cup already.

In the match betting, Man United are 1/2 for victory, with Hull 6/1 to win on the night and 10/3 on offer for the draw.
