Donald Trump odds-on to visit UK this year after Government reject petition
US President Donald Trump is 2/7 to visit the United Kingdom at some point during 2017, after the Government rejected a petition which has gained over one million signatures.
Theresa May became the first foreign leader to visit the 45th President last week, who has since declared a ban on citizens from seven nations entering or leaving the US.
The move prompted a petition seeking to ban Trump’s proposed State visit, and it received more than a million signatures in a matter of days.
The visit was announced last week when May was Stateside, although no date has been confirmed.
State Visits are historically significant and grand affairs, requiring an invitation from Her Majesty The Queen and differ from regular visits by heads of state.
Both Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron have publically expressed their displeasure with the Government’s decision.
We are 5/2 that Trump doesn’t visit UK shores in 2017.
